Success Story FÖRCH strengthens its multi-channel approach with its own sales app

With more than 100,000 workshop, assembly and fastening products, Förch is one of Germany's leading suppliers of products for trade and industry. The family-owned company currently employs around 3,500 people who work every day to ensure the satisfaction of over 300,000 customers worldwide. In addition to 34 sales locations in Germany and more than 55 country representatives, FÖRCH relies on an efficient multi-channel sales approach and an effective e-commerce strategy. This enables the company to offer its products and services internationally and reach its customers optimally via various sales channels.

Initial situation

The FÖRCH Group is a modern family business with steady growth, which is primarily characterized by strong internationalization. This has resulted in an increasingly complex IT infrastructure, which is why it became necessary to standardize the ERP systems in different countries, among other things. In sales, FÖRCH relies on a multi-channel approach with a field sales force, sales locations and its own web store.

Solution and result

In 2019, FÖRCH decided to replace its outdated, self-developed ERP system with SAP S/4HANA, first in Germany and then in other European countries, in order to create the basis for future digital solutions. These include a modern web store and a new sales app based on the Polumana® app from Blue-Zone. Together with the new ERP system, the aim was to create a future-proof digital infrastructure. The go-live was successful: around 700 sales representatives in Germany directly processed over 70,000 orders per month via the new app, while only a few support requests were received.
